This post is sponsored by Russell Brunson, the author of Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers. As always, all expressed opinions will honest and of my own creation.
Let’s start with a truth bomb here: I had a hard time figuring out what I’m doing. I’ve never really cared for the title of Social Media Influencer because of the stigma and assumptions that come along with it. I did some research, on the internet and in my soul, and found a better way to term what it is that I do.
I finally stopped playing games and gave a name to the work that I do with my blog. It was a simple start, but needed to be done before I could move forward. My blog and my social media presence are a business, MY business! I had such a hard time deciding whether or not I “qualified” as a business or what I was doing would be okay to be “considered” as a business, but after months of contemplation and stressing about it, I accepted the truth for what it is. I am a content creator; that is my business!
After finally resolving my identity crisis, I came across Russell Brunson’s book, Traffic Secrets. I was very intrigued by it because I am always looking for new ways to bring traffic to my blog. (And associated social media pages, of course.) I was chosen to participate in a 30-Day Challenge based on the tools provided in Traffic Secrets. The goal is to help me start the process of filling my website with my dream audience! For the past 30 days, I have been reading and completing the challenges associated with this book. Today was my last day for the challenge. So I thought, what better time than the present to share my thoughts on the experience.
What is Traffic Secrets all about and why is it different?
I personally love to hear what an author has to say about their work; it motivates me to want to buy their product when I see their fire and passion! Here is a video of Russell Brunson giving a quick 60-second explanation of the point and purpose of Traffic Secrets.
It should come as no surprise, but I have learned so much in the last 30 days! One of the biggest takeaways for me was the realization that most businesses don’t fail because their product is inadequate; its the widely held fallacy that business just shows up after you’ve made a great product! That was something I had been told over and over again as a content creator. “Make good content and everything else will fall into place!” This ideology simply is not TRUE.

Oh, don’t mind me. I’m just enjoying my book right before bed. They say reading right before you go to sleep makes you remember it better or something like that..? Yeah, that!

The truth that all aspiring entrepreneurs need to know!
Entrepreneurs have to learn and understand the art and science of getting consumers to find them! People don’t just find you; you have to put your product, or brand in my case, in front of them to be discovered. Completing the 30-day challenge helped me to learn new strategies to increase traffic to my blog and begin the process of creating funnels. The term “funnel” was a foreign concept to me, but after reading Traffic Secrets, I think that I had been working on creating funnels all along. I just didn’t know to call them that. The best way I can define it is that it is the process through which consumers decide where to spend their time or money. We have to create funnels that lead to our products, services, and content.
In addition to this, truly delving into who my dream customer is and where they spend their time. Again, this is something that I think I unconsciously had thought about without knowing what it was called. I spent several days really digging deep and trying to figure out who it is I wanted to see my content and where I would find them. The crazy thing about all of this is that in retrospect, I have a hard time understanding why anybody would start a business without knowing these things! But no judgement from me, because I was one of those people. You can only do better when you know better. Here is a quick video of Russell Brunson sharing his take on one of his tips from the book!
Let’s wrap it all up!
Everything sounds so much simpler when he says it. I can’t verbalize how many “duh” or “aha” moments I had while turning the pages of Traffic Secrets! Russell really does a phenomenal job of revealing the classic AND foundational direct marketing techniques that business owners need to stay ahead of the game. While I am still in the process of implementing my newfound knowledge, I am already feeling more confident and capable in my ability to market my brand.
I can’t wait to reap the benefits of my reading Traffic Secrets! There’s so much to be learned, applied, and considered when marketing a business/ brand. Getting the traffic that you deserve should not have to be a waiting game or a stroke of good luck. With the tools and information shared in this book, I am now equipped with a timeless method to continue bringing readers into my network. Creating the product or the content is only half the battle; traffic equates website clicks, subscribes, and eventually revenue. I’m just so thankful that I found this book now instead of farther in the future. If you’re ready to take your brand/business to the next level; pick up a copy of Traffic Secrets.
